Fulfill Your Austin Aspirations
The warmer months are closing in on us in Texas and while this year has been a bit unconventional, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take advantage of what this beautiful city has to offer. Austin has so much to experience year-round, but especially so in the summer. From the neighborhood appeal of Rainey Street to hiking the gorgeous Greenbelt, this hill country city truly has something for everyone.
If you’re just here for a day trip, make sure you see as much of the city as possible. Austin is known for many things, including its music scene, craft beer, nd diverse food scene. The best way to cover all your bases is to book a tour with Bike and Brew ATX. This city tour is unlike any other as your experience takes place on two wheels while traveling from brewery to brewery. They have several different tours available which including a history of Austin tour, a “bike and chew” with tasty treats along the way, an art tour and more. When the tour is over, walk on over to The Rainey Street Historic District and enjoy an evening like a local. It’s a great spot for a night cap and to get a feel for the real Austin! Also, within walking distance is Sixth Street, if you’re feeling brave enough to see what keeps Austin weird.
If you’re able to stay for a bit longer, kick your trip off with brunch at Magnolia’s Cafe for some of the pancakes around! An alternative option for brunch spot is Culinary Dropout for fried chicken and biscuits paired with a bacon infused bloody mary. Once your full stomach has settled, you must take a dip in the chilling Barton Springs Pool. This local favorite lies within Zilker Park and is a great spot to cool off during one of Texas’ notoriously hot days. Or if you're feeling more adventurous rent a kayak or paddleboat and hop on over to Lady Bird Lake, a local favorite for water sporting fun.

If your trip allows for a few more stops, the Texas State Capitol will not be a disappointment. The architecture alone will leave you breathless and the FREE tours are a great mixture of lessons from the past and present. After your visit, stop for lunch at Cyclone Anaya's Tex-Mex Cantina and get a real taste of Texas!
We couldn’t mention a trip to Austin without of course talking about some of the best music venues in the country. Check out Stubbs for a wide variety of music, with concerts almost every day, or step into The Broken Spoke to get your country two-step on. Walk down any street in Austin and you’re sure to hear music all around from one of the hundreds of live music venues, a street performer or someone strumming a guitar on their front porch.
